THIS IS THE FIRST STEP FOR US TO PARTNER WITH YOU AS THE PARENT OF A LITTLE ONE.
WE HOPE YOU ARE EXCITED BECAUSE WE ARE!

+ Why baby dedication?

Children are a gift from God. As parents, being part of a loving church family can help you raise your children in the ways of the Lord. It is in this church family that your children will receive love, make friends, grow, and even find their purpose. The Bible says that it is an act of obedience by parents to offer their baby to the Lord (Mark 10:13), as well as a public declaration of their intention as parents to lay a foundation of Godly principles, with an intention to raise their child with Christian values (Deuteronomy 6:5-7) and to guide and educate their child in accordance with God's Word (Ephesians 6:4). Therefore, celebrating a moment when parents can bring their little ones to church to have some of our leaders pray with them demonstrates this act of obedience.

+ What does baby dedication mean for the parent?

Baby Dedication is more than an event - it is an opportunity for you to take some time at the beginning of your journey as a parent to really think about what will matter the most in the life of your child. We encourage you to talk together as parents and decide what you value and what you can do today that will have the greatest impact on your child's future.

+ Does dedication ensure salvation for my baby/child?

As parents, we cannot determine our child's salvation. Each individual must make their own decision regarding their relationship with Christ. When a child becomes old enough to understand the concept of sin and their responsibility for that sin before God, they are then ready to make a decision about salvation. This age of understanding is not a pre-determined age, but rather it is when the child has a true understanding of a relationship with Christ and is able to express that understanding of their faith in Jesus as their Savior, even if in a childlike way (Matthew 18:3; Mark 10:14-15; Luke 18:17). Although parents cannot make the salvation decision for their child, they can lay a foundation by their teaching and example that will help a child be ready to make that most important of decisions.

+ Is dedication the same thing as baptism?

This dedication is not a baptism and it does not impart salvation to the child. Baby Dedications are viewed as a confirmation of the partnership between the parents and the church to raise the child in a Godly way until the child is old enough to make his or her own decision in accepting Christ as his or her personal Savior. The dedication of children is taught in the Bible. Even Jesus was dedicated as a baby by his parents. Jesus also valued children highly and bestowed blessings upon them (Mark 10:16).
