Growing in relationship with Jesus is just like any other friendship, it takes time and is a life-long journey. This relationship is built through time reading the Bible, your roadmap to life and prayer.
S.O.A.P. is a great method to use while reading the Bible. S.O.A.P. is an acronym: Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer. As you read from SCRIPTURE, write down the specific verses that catch your attention. Then from those verses what are your OBSERVATIONS. What is God speaking through these verses and throughout the entire chapter? What do these verses mean? Next, is APPLICATION. What principles can you apply to your life right now? Last, end your study with PRAYER. Communicate with God verbally or by writing in your notebook, and ask Him to help you apply this to your life.
